What to Expect
For more information on surgery in Mexico with Dr. Thomas, please contact us.
1. You will see Dr. Thomas in consultation in either his Nacogdoches or Houston office. Call and schedule an appointment if you are interested.
2. Usual pre-operative testing and medical clearence is required. We can arrange the testing and referrals if needed. Education concerning the procedure is accomplished by the online Emmi programs, seminars, office visits, and by a pre-operative phone call by our Bariatric coordinator, Dottie McClain.
3. The trip time and schedule varies. So patients need to have some flexiblity on when they can go.
4. All patients and any travel companions need a passport.
6. We will make all the hospital, hotel, and flight arrangements. The travel companion will be responsible for the cost of their airfare.
7. The patients are meet at the airport by Cornerstone hospital personel, usually Liliani, and transported to the hospital. The patients will pay and then be prepared for surgery. Currently we are performing surgery the day of arrival. The patients spend the night of surgery in the hospital. The next morning the patients are transported to the hotel. The following day the paitents fly home.
8. Dr. Thomas will see the patients before surgery, perform the surgery, and discharge the patients from the hospital, and be available at the hotel for any questions or problems.
9. Usual post op office visit in either Nacogdoches or Houston.
