Your care may include advanced medications or a minimally invasive procedure that provides excellent, long-lasting results.

The procedure is called “laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication” and is so effective that Dr. Thomas’ success rate with this treatment, meaning no return of symptoms, is over 95%. Basically, through this procedure, Dr. Thomas reinforces the valve in your stomach that controls the flow of acid between the stomach and esophagus. A stronger valve means less acid escapes back into your esophagus, and that means reduced heartburn symptoms.

The procedure is performed at our fully certified outpatient surgical facility. Most patients are typically back to their regular activities the next day.
